We had Cents in BAOR and when to Tidworth we converted to Armoured recce Saladins and Ferrets we stayed in that role until we moved to Fally in 1972 when we took over Chieftains .

Now I have seen the photo of him , I can now remember him , I never served in the same Sqn as him but face is very familiar . As I served in every Sqn except Air Sqn I must have bumped into him quite often it is very sad to hear of his passing to the green fields , I am sure that if try Facebook there should be many of the lads that will remember him . Regards Tex Collins.

There have been several females in UTOCs met a few when I was with the RY there did not seem any problems then , I did not find out whether they drank beer and did smelly farts in the turret, if you had ever been a gunner you would know why . Fearnaught

[The best bit was watching them firing on the ranges , the first round took the turret completely off an old target tank at about 1500 metres , we all cheered.

I went to see Trev when I was in Detmold ,he was working selling furniture to British forces ,he was still married to Monica and they have got two boys. This was back in the mid 80s he was on the phone listed under Monicas name , I was going to give him a ring but looking at directory listings the only Haskins listed was one of his boys, I know the boys do not speak English and my German is crap. Well how are you I am still with the living still married , retired and doing as little as possible , we are hoping to go to Plymouth in November for the reunion , the last time I saw anyone was at Brummies funeral, very sad, I spoke to Rip Kerby at the time but it appears that we are dwindling fast. must go now I hope this info is of use best regards Tex Collins

I can't see any mention of Fallingbostel in any script about this article plus when we left Fally in 1976 Clunk was still only a Sgt or S/Sgt also that building in the background is bit new for Fally , apart from that has anyone heard how Tony is as it seems to have gone rather quiet since he became ill. Regards Tex

The service is getting so much better it shows you haven't got a lot on these days , anyway I presume that photo was taken either in Bovington or Paderborn may even be Tidworth but I don't recognise the building in the background , Fearnaught.

It was 1968 as I was on that parade and there was a lot of mutterings about it being the biggest F__k since Gallipoli.

So sad to see the demise of such a well kept barracks , all that sweeping and litter picking seems to have gone to waste . When they panned passed the Guardroom I am sure I saw Andy Wilson standing there .
