14 members were present for the first branch meeting of 2017.
February tends to be the worst attended meeting of the year so the numbers were really quite good. The minutes of the November 2016 meeting were accepted, final comments on the successful January ladies lunch were made. A copy of the Winter 2016 edition of the Tank Mag was available for those who do not subscribe. Minutes of the RTRA AGM held in November 2016 were available to all members. Dates of the 2017 RTRA AGM and the March to the Cenotaph were avilable to all.
Names were taken for the RTRA sponsored Church Service and Curry Lunch in March. The names of Dave Roberts and Dave Orman have been fowarded to HHQ RTR as our nominees for places on the Passchendaele 100 commemoration tour this summer, organised by the Not Forgotten Association.
An update on Cambrai 100 was given, including the cost per person, so individuals can now plan in ernest for this event.
The meeting was then closed and the Guest speaker introduced.
Debbie Oldfield is a civilian crime prevention officer for Dorset Police, she gave short presentation on rogue traders which was a timely reminder for the more elderly members of the branch. They went away with up to date knowledge of what the latest scams and dodges being used by the rogue traders of Dorset.
Finally, I won two prizes in the raffle!
