16 members on parade, an excellent turnout on what is usually a low turn out month. Members away on holiday or visiting Normandy tends to keep the numbers down in June. The loyal toast and toast to the regiment was followed by the green fields which was a nil return.
The London branch newsletter was available to view. Timings for the trip to the Nottingham branch service of remembrance were confirmed. 8 members of the branch went on this trip with Graham Collins carrying the branch standard. It was confirmed that the July meeting will also be the AGM. Tiny Hart and Mac McKanny confirmed that they had attended the Burton village veterans day on 5th June and so the RTR badge was on view on what was a very wet day. Drought? what drought?
It was agreed that the annual ladies lunch in January 2012 will again be held at the Cottonwood Hotel in Bournemouth.
The highlight of the evening was confirmation from Jeff Lyman that AFV gunnery school at Lulworth camp have agreed to a visit by this branch on Tuesday 12th July 2011. Something exiciting to look forward to. I will post a separate thread on this visit after the visit.
