What do you all feel about the proposed spending review which this government is about to force upon our wonderful armed forces. We were building two large aircraft carriers now only one is going ahead. The proposed cuts will see massive redundancies and according to the Minister of defence we will become part of a European army probably under the control of the Europeans and not our own home bred and trained Generals etc.

I personally never voted for this lot. They were never given a mandate by the electorate but now that they have legislated to allow themselves a full term in government there is nothing we the electorate can do about it Adam. Clever man for the first time in the history of parliament has a minority government given itself the power to stay in government even if it lost a vote of no confidence, it is nothing more than disgraceful. The saddest thing of all is that the working class now think they are middle class and they consider the underclasses which means people on benefits are below contempt. We all knew we could not continue with the benefit system as it is but that was in the hope that a government would actually look at finding those who abused the system. When our old age pensioners receive little more than £6,500 as a couple and illegal and legal immigrants are given benefits averaging £26,900 it just beggars belief don't you think. Our armed forces must remain independent from Europe for the good of our own country and its defences, I would much rather see the removal of trident and all that money ploughed into the three forces that make up our armed forces.

I hope Argentina doesn't decide to invade the Falklands again because these defence cuts will certainly hamper any efforts by us to defend it.
