I have just received an e/m for my good friend Harry Bellingham informing me that Capt.Cliff Gamble passed to the Green Fields yesterday 16th Jan. 2008. Cliff Gamble was RQMS 3RTR at Detmold in my day and a past President of Lincoln Branch. R.I.P. Cliff. Capt. Clif Gamble. Letter Received 26/01/2008 Hi Geordie We went to Cliff Gambles Funeral in Grimsby yesterday And I met Stan Patrick's son who was also there .The branch standard was carried by Jack Hewson ex 3 RTR (From Normandy to the last battle the 3rd fought in WW2,) A Guard of Honour was formed Cliff's Son A, Lt. Colonel of the First RTR and many ex RTR and other Regt.s were also present.Tell Stan his old mate had a good send off to the Green Fields.RIP. Now for some more sad news, Capt.Norman Wilson ex RSM 5 RTR.went to the Green Fields early this morning.Norman Like Cliff was one of natures Gentlemen,Our Branch will miss them both immensely.Our numbers are dwindling,and young members are not coming forward. Not much else to report at this sad time.Look forward to meeting you again.Hopefully sometime this year. Your Old Army Mate Harry take care
