Looks like an Honour Guard, I recognize the the Corps of Drums Uniform but not the Bugler I was in it but demobed August 60 so this must be later but I understood they left Detmold in 1960

Bugler was I believe a chap called Dave Graham, but i'm not certain. Dave Graham is correct, others you would remember, Immediately to the right of Dave Graham are Dave Sherry & Tex Collins. Rear rank second in from the right is Glyn Reynolds. Lt Col Barras I think I am right in saying is there too.

Alf, I dont think that is Dave Mus*oe, who now lives up in"Last of the summer wine" country. I think he joined us later, I had him on a D&M course (Cents) at Catterick. He was a clerk at the time. Must admit, he does look a bit like him!

Roger to that Alf. Although I remember Bare-arse, I foget what he looked like. I think, at the time the photo was taken, I was with 20 Amrd Bde and actually may have been with one of the Staff cars!! I used to drive the Brigadiers ferret, champ & and on important occasions, co- drive the staff car (doorman).

I feel confident that the following who have been ID'd are correct Dave Graham bugler, Lt Col Barras CO, Dave Sherry Guard Commander, Tex Collins to his right, next but one to Tex could be Ging Fretwell also a possibility that far right front rank could be Reg Hutchins.
Left of the rear rank is of course Brummie Northwood whilst last but one is Glyn Reynolds.
I am in touch with both Dave Sherry & Tex Collins. I will check and see if they can throw any more light on things. Alfie I believe Glyn Reynolds lives not too far from you "Bridport" I think though I have no other details. Pecker might have a contact number?

I got sent this pic today by a guy called Kev Greenhalgh aka pupgreen ex 2RTR, he settled down in the 'Falling-Bar-Stool' area and now runs this museum (see link), as well as holding down his day job! www.fallingbostelmilitarymuseum.de/On the back of the photo is written, I quote:- Left to Right Tex Collins, Ken Bosson, Bill Peace, Rip Kirby
Outside 'C' Sqn Block Detmold
Summer 1959Pity about the shadows from the branches, however there is no mistaking Bill with all those tattoos!

Quite amazing how these old photo's keep turning up T*x C*llins said he has the same one at home (but not sure where) along with others which I have asked if I can borrow. No luck as yet but still hopeful. Perhaps like many of us they are in the attic and it proves a bit of a problem getting up there these day's.

Ref the photos of the "Quarter Guard" for the C.I.G.S. they where taken by the Regt photographer Tom Maxwell I believe, Billy wiz is right about the names sofar Brummie Northwood ,Ginge Fretwell ,Willie Morell ,it looks like Ty Harding next to Brummie the one next to me I cant remember his name now but I think he was in the Corp of Drums ,going on to the photos of me , Rip, Bill & Ken that was taken with my camera I have a couple more photos taken at the same time next to a motor bike ,at that time A Sqn were staying in C Sqn block while a refurbish was taking place. I have several more photos which I am about to send to Pecker for posting . Happy New Year to all our readers I will be in touch.
