13 members were present for the February 2016 branch meeting. I was quite pleased that we had so many as February is always the worst attended branch meeting of the year. The Loyal Toast, Toast to the Regiment,Green Fields (nil), Welfare and Minutes of the November meeting were quickly completed. A wash & brush up of the January Ladies Lunch was carried out and thanks were given to those that did the graft made it a success.
Minutes of the RTRA AGM held in November were available to view. Details regarding the RTR Sponsored Church Service and Curry Lunch were announced. Date and Time (20/11/2016, 10.30hrs) of the RTR March to the Cenotaph were given. The RTRA AGM will be held on the same day. Members were informed that the Scottish Branch who have had an altar created in the RTR plot at the National Memorial Arboretum will be having a dedication service there on 5th May at 1200hrs. All are welcome to attend.
Members were informed that there is to be an RTR Families and Association day at Aliwal Barracks, Tidworth on Saturday 2nd July 2016. We are awaiting further details.
On Saturday 17th September there is going to be a special event at the Tank Museum to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Tanks being used in action for the first time. We will be contacting the Museum to see if there is a role for members of the Association (Namely the Bournemouth & Poole Branch) at this event. Normal admission procedures are not valid on this occasion and so as things stand, Veterans and Association members will have to pay the going rate to get in. As the RTR is involved in this, things may change regarding admission.
Members were informed that 2016 subscriptions are now due and stand at £10 per annum.
No guest speaker this month so the Chairman closed the meeting at this point.
