5 members of the branch attended the RAC training regiment's Phase II recruits families day yestarday Saturday 14th June at Bovington. An excellent day out, we were shown the CIS and D&M training they undertake, I had a go in the CR2 driving simulator allowing them to see that ex gunnery instructors can "multi task". We were shown the annual MATTS training they have to pass before they can join their regiments. We were shown a vehicles display at the knife dge, we were shown their accommodation, we had lunch in the restaurant, we visited the centurion club, (ex NAAFI bar) and memories of the Bovvy Hop came flooding back. WE were shown the PRI and the WRVS. Finally there was a demonstration at the Tank museum arena, showing the parents all young Jimmy has learned so far regarding infantry work. The day then finished off with free entry to the tank museum, allowing me to look at the new "warhorse to horsepower" exhibition at the museum.
