Hi,
My name is Tim. I am currently building a model of a Crusader Mk I. These tanks were first used in North Africa by 6 RTR, and are the only Crusaders that were ever painted in the 'Caunter Camoflage' scheme. This was in June 1941 as part of the 7th Armoured Brigade in Operation Battelaxe.
I am looking for any information regarding markings. I have a picture of a captured Crusader, and the only marking is the figure '63' (which denotes the arm of service marking) which would have been on a green square. However, it seems as if there are no tactical squadron markings on the vehicle - nor is there a brigade insignia (which would have been the 7th Armoured Brigade's Jerboa).
Any assistance or advice on vehicle markings, vehicle numbers, links to pictures etc would be most welcome.
Regards
Tim
