An incredibly sad loss to to the Merseyside Branch and all Tankies in general. Vinnie joined the 7th Kings Regiment in 1937 at park St Bootle. He transferred to the 40th Tanks in 1938. He later went on to India to join the 2nd RTR and stayed with them throughout the war until he ended up in Palmanora Italy. He was finally demobbed in 1946. Vinnie joined the RTR Association in the fifties and has been an active member since, holding most Committee positions, including many years as the branch Standard Bearer. Vinnie will be laid to rest at St Giles Church, Aintree Liverpool on the 19th February 2010 at 1130 hrs. The Branch Standard will be paraded and all members wishing to attend are welcome. Further details are available from Tom McClymont (Merseyside Branch Secretary)

Vinny was a quiet and unassuming man ...well steeped in the ways of the world ,he always had a ready smile and a kind word for everyone .As he himself said he did his bit in the war ..and enjoyed the comradship he found even at the hardest of times all in all a good man and i would like to think a good friend
