Kevin Warcup ex D Sqn 1 RTR has come up with this design for a enamel RTR Ribbon to show support for our troops in Afghanistan
2d single sided design, with an inner cut out. Stamped design with a soft enamel finish in four colours. 40mm high x 20 cm wide c/w a butterfly clutch fastening on the reverse (all subject to change)
We have a company that will make these at a small cost and was wondering if anybody or branches would be interested in them.
They can not be bought anywere else. Please let me know what you think. cheers Bri

Great Guys, we had put this idea to RTR RHQ but the message back was "Not interested", so were going alone with it. They haven`t been ordered yet because of the christmas break, but as soon as I get them you will be the 1st to know. Prices haven`t been set but we are looking at about £1.99 each (subject to change) Can anybody wanting 1 please leave a message below as this will give us an idea of the size of our 1st order. cheers Bri

Hi Everyone, Update for all those interested in the Support the Royal Tank Regiment Ribbon badge. Order went in today. That means the badge should be with me in four to six weeks. We have decided to donate 10% of every badge sale to: St Dunstan’s, who provide lifelong support for blind and visually impaired ex-Service men and women. Lots of people have shown interest in the badge which is fantastic, just so everyone on this forum is aware the cost to anyone that I know or anyone on this forum is £1.99 as previously stated + postage which won’t be a lot. If we don’t sell all the badges in the initial order then we will open them up to the public on ebay at a cost of £2.50 per badge to cover ebay costs etc. At the moment we have only ordered 300 badges so will sell them on a first come first serve basis. I am compiling a list of people who have shown an interest and will supply these people first. If it goes really well we will order more. cheers Brian

Alright Guys, just a little update: we have just heard from the people who are making the badges and the only major change is the Union flag colours Because of the size it would be too difficult to get all colours perfect in the enamelling process, so we have compromised on the Union Flag and gone for the blue background with a raised gold finish, the gold finish will be around the edge of the whole badge etc as shown in picture. Please remember the size of the badge is 40mm high x 20 mm wide c/w a butterfly clutch fastening on the reverse. I am very pleased with the results of the badge so far and the company I am dealing with seem a top quality outfit.
Don't take too much notice of the brown red and green, as I have sent my Regimental tie to the company to ensure that the colours are 100% correct.
There has been a lot of orders on the 1 RTR forum and there ordering 5 at a time so get your orders in quick.
cheers Brian

Ok, Guys, we got the colours spot on and have Copyrighted the image as we have already had people using it before asking us. Hopefully the badge shouldn`t take too long to make but as its a brand new design we are having to pay for all the new stuff they use. I was thinking of using pay-pal and my account is: baz092727@hotmail.com
It will be a few weeks yet before I get them so don`t send the money yet. Can people who have put an order on here please send me your full address so I can`t start working out P&P and if passable send a load to one address to be handed out, thus saving P&P. So far we have only contacted this forum , 4 RTR forum and a friend in 1 RTR and will be selling to all these at the agreed price. After this they will be on sale for £2.50
Capt Brennan from 1 RTR is saling the badges on behalf of 1 RTR and all his profits are going towards bringing the single guys families down to Honington after they return from Afghanistan. Any Questions just ask. -------------- I a have a question, is it possable and legal for someone to use an MAC address to hack my Computer and take information from it??
Think I`ve upset someone......

Brian can you please put me down for two badges, I will send payment through paypal when you let me know the cost. I think that all members should put in a patition to RHQ RTR to prick their thought on the pin at least they should make an effort as we as no longer serving members are!!, Shame on them . it make's me feel proud that I am an ex member of the RTR alongside with the R.A.A.C. (Royal Australian Armoured Corps)and that the leading bodies do not wish to support our cause.

Cheers will be in touch.
We are also supporting the families/welfare officer of the 1st Royal Tank Regiment by supplying him with badges . All the profit he makes will be used to provide transport to get families to Honnington when the squadron returns from Afghanistan.
