Cambrai Day - 20th November.
My mate Dave Rickarby (ex 3RTR) shares his birthday with Cambrai Day. In the orderly room we would publish the special order of the day as instructed, then produce a second version with Happy Birthday Dave emblazoned across the top.
Lost touch with Dave when I went on ERE in 1968, not seen him since. I guess he's 61 this Friday.

Is this the same Dave Rickarby (Scouse) with the light colored jumper at the end of the table. This was taken 1959 Detmould he was then C sqd SHQ troop. The last I heard of him, he was on forces reunited asking for anyone who knew him to get in touch. I sent a e/m but got no reply. I wonder if he still has my radio?

I think he might be losing it a bit , my Wife served with him in Equipment Trials Wing Bovington and when we e-mailed him he could not remember us , just reminder his brother served with the Regt in the 60s/70s called little scouse to some of us .

That will be Dave's big brother Jimmy, otherwise known as Black Frank when he served with the regiment. He left in the ealry 60's before Dave and I joined up, married the girl next door and I lost touch with both of them when I went on a posting to the Air Corps in 68 and Dave went to Sharjah with A Sqn. I did invite Dave to my wedding in 69 but he didn't show up.
Happy Cambrai Day everyone. No sign of gunfire here! I must educate my boss in the fine tradition.
